When will the SAKFA number system start? also if you carry flares who is going to do the inspection every year ?

Thanks

howzit lemon...

To my knowledge, the club to which you are a member, should have a Safety Officer. He will be responsible for the annual inspection of your craft.(Registration, Safety Equipment etc.)

Hi lemon

All clubs affiliated to SAKFA already have started the KF numbering system.

If you are wanting your club to affiliate, chat to Kieth Hockley at 0824503119.

It will cost each member R75 to affiliate to SAKFA.

Secondly, your clubs safety officer should be conducting annual safety inspections to ensure that all skis are compliant in terms of safety requirements.

SAMSA has a minimum requirement in terms of safety equipment which we are required to carry at all times. Clubs may want to expand on this safety equipment requirements as we have.

Do you have to belong to club?
I live in EL and dont think there are any fishing clubs here.
Are we still required to be be "Compliant"
I have for my own safety all the necessary gear, but I was just wandering, will SAMSA require every one to be affiliated?

You presently do not have to belong to a club , however SAMSA does require you to carry a minimum of safety gear . the present requirements by SAMSA are -

PFD

750ml Water

10 metres rope

Projectile flare kit

Collapsible bucket (PVC type)
