In my opinion, this boat will cost you more than if you go and buy a seaworthy boat. It looks very tired and dated.
I've had two assessments and since done the maths - buying a seaworthy boat of the same size with 2 x 40hp's is a cheaper option, so perhaps she'll have to go!
Like I said, if you have the time and money + plus friends to fish with (on their boats while yours is a project) - Yes, then by all means. Glad you've made the right choice buddy! Got any boat in mind yet?

MikeD let us know what use (sea / fishing / skiing / family / dam) etc the boat will have, many guys here have experience with many boats, could short list a few suitable models etc/ let u know the 'good' ones to look out for.
@barryfish - thanks, if I sit and think rationally, then in all likelihood all I need is a little dingy with a 15hp motor. I want to be able to fish just beyond the kelp, as I live in an area which has 2 or 3 lovely little bays (Franskraal), productive for fishing for the table.

Had a look at this one too yesterday on Gumtree - yeh, that's probably all I need. There is a guy locally (Gansbaai) that builds them for around 5k, but of course, no trailer and motor. Little duck would also be ok!
I would suggest an Ark, as mentioned above, easy transportation/stoarage/light and and ....
Mahi Mahi on Sealine had an Ark, he post some of his catches from the Ark, amazing! Perhaps if you post " A Wanted" post in the classifieds, somebody might have an Ark for sale or might know of someone that has got one for sale?

The nice thing is that it can all fit into your car.

That is an old surf buster hull.
We had one as a rescue craft at the BWB surf lifesaving club, but it had a inboard with a Hamilton jet.
There was one other one with two 40hp Yamahas in PE, with the lower gunwhales and used for spearfishing.
If I remember correctly it was an Australian design, for surf rescue, hence the lwo gunwhales.
