Yesterday I managed to get a few casts in, and in the process getting smashed by a few good waves whilst wading.
As they had both been fully submerged, when I got home, I rinsed the reels, and stripped them.
It was quite unbelievable how water manages to find its way into areas where you wouldn't think possible/
I was using a brand new Torium 50, so pulled it apart completely. There was wate/wetness between some of the drag washers. There was plenty of moisture inside the right housing and a significant amount on the left end of the spool.
This was a real wake up, to understand just how much water can get in a reel. Apologies for not taking any pics, but wasn't expecting anything interesting so wasn't prepared!
