Whataaaaa Day,
The venue was first confirmed for Steyns, but the road was terrible so the venue was changed to Boschkop.
We had good weather for most of the day with the odd 1min shower. A total of 13 anglers pitched up for the event.
We fished to the far right hand side of Boschkop. The wind was something else and changed direction three time throughout the day…!
The fishing was great in the morning with the wind pumping from left to right, but as soon as it changed to blow from behind us it all went ………..
I was into the first karpietjie within two minutes and fished at an interval of about 12min until the watch hit 10h37am and all went quiet. I tried everything and couldn’t buy a bite. Almost giving up I hooked Banana pips and casted it long range (maybe 90mtr) and left it.
I ended up with third place; a hamper for the biggest fish and a purse of R280, whilst my brother got 2[suP]nd[/suP] place and R400 odd.
My bag had 9 fish including a carp 0f 4.95kg’s.
