I managed to get a gap on Saturday night to do something I've been wanting to do for years and that was fish Cinsta point for Black Steenbras. I first had to twist Wades arm. He didn't trust my choice of spot and was swaying towards a party instead
eventually common sense prevailed and he decided to go to Cinsta and the mission was on.
We got there an hour before dark and the Big Eyes were wild and stripped our chokka blob baits long before the Blues could find them. I did hook one of them and I tossed it in a pool for later.
As it got dark I reeled in to change my crab that had not been found by a Silver and put on an octopus bait. Next thing I hear Wade shout that he is on and after a decent pull he lands a beautiful specimen of a Black Steenbras that weighed in at 5,1Kg. After helping him land it I'm back to my rods to freshen up the baits. Before long Wade is in again and this time it is a 150cm Spotted Gully. Unfortunately I haven't got pics of his fish but I'll try get them.
Now I'm wondering why it is that I have to convince him to come and then he gets all the bites
so I decide it's time to guarantee myself the next bite:spite:spite so I grab the Big Eye, put a Ryoichi 6/0 Soi 3X through the top lip and cut the tail off. Before long I hear that beatiful sound of a Finnor 20 Ratchet over the sound of the waves
I set the hooks and lean into a solid Spotted Gulley of 161cm.
