PLEASE HELP^^..^^..^^..

i had bought a LOOMIS and FRANKLIN 12.6 HMG 5-6 hounce tip 3 piece rod from FISHERMANS WAREHOUSE in durban central in october 2014....in december 2014 i was casting and the tip broke next to the joint of where the 3rd piece fits onto the 2nd..

lucky me i didnt keep my reciept, the old muslim dude there with a terrible attitude thank god for him that his old had quoted me R260 INITIALLY..when the tip arrived i had been charged R395.00 for a new tip which was all good.

after fishing all of 4 times with this new tip...last night 18/02/14 this tip broke in the exact same place?????

now i have had enough so please help me with a guide line as on how should i go about with dealing with this matter

I ALSO HEARD THAT THESE RODS COULD BE FAKE?? AND MOST PROB A CHINESE REPLICA

if you had a problem with someone at kings would you refer to them as those Christian, Jewish or Hindu dudes?
please sir in future try not to mix religion with your gripe towards a certain individual

Hi Nizaam

i meant no disrespect...i referred to him as a muslim man simply bcoz he is the only one that uses a toppie in that shop...if u didnt know there is also a white gentlman and another guy who i cannot tell what he is.

i have muslim family as well bcoz my mom is muslim.

if u have religion issues rather get somebody else to entertain you on facebook or mxit or bbm i do NOT have the time to explain myself to you!!!!

rather not comment dude...this is a rod matter and not a RELIGION matter.

now that the religion and humming bums are out the way , lets tackle the rod issue.:lol:1:lol:1

The dates that you have provide is incorrect.

Are the joints fitted correctly ?

Has the tip broken in the same place ?

Are you using the recommended weight class for the rod?

Is the rod being stored in the correct manner and getting damaged ?

oh and the pieces are fitted correctly together...stored in a loomis rod case which i bought with the rod.

i take most care of my fishing gear because i want it to last because its so expensive.

Akals is the agent for Loomis and franklin.

Take the rod to them and get hem to sort out this issue, or furnish you with a replacement rod.

Pleasure bru and goodluck.

Keep me posted on the out come .

Just off the record  , i purchased a few things from that store, when i was in durbs over the festive period and i must say that the service and assistance was phenominal .

i just called Aslam now he said send the rod directly to him tomorrow and he will check it out and replace me the rod if needs be...AWESOME::S

its a win win situation...he will give me a new tip otherwise.

service is good but when there is drama the attitude stinks and for me that does not kick a balance...if u in trouble they should go out of of they way to help you.

despite all the money we spend there...all the time.

thank you bru

Hi sinner,seems you're paying for that name...lol!

Saw your initial report last night, didn't add salt as Streepie was spot on with his advice.

What I would like to add though is this.About 3 years ago,I broke my med tip on a Loomis, great rod, caught lots of decent fish, and thought it's a sign, time to dispose of rod with the fall on rocks breaking some eyes.

So,bought another Loomis, and the blank had changed, battled to throw 4 oz on heavy tip. This on a 14ft rod!

Just lucky, guys knew me,took rod back, and perhaps you ended up in similar situation without knowledge as I had of previous Loomis.

Lastly,it was really noble that the tackle shop came to the party, and saw your side of things.I thought you were dead and buried, with no receipt.

So,if you can, give them some credit,as invariably they are suffering a loss, which some of us anglers don't see as shops often end up with inferior products and they must incur losses as well, although it's all in a days work to offer Anglers a wider spectrum of choices to choose from.

Anyway,glad you sorted it,well done!

1. You probably shouldn't have had to have paid for the first replacement tip

2. Caution when approaching the retailer with a claim issue, I understand one would be upset and often kicking the conversation off on the wrong foot leads to misunderstandings and unpleasantness.

3. All Loomis and Franklin rods are made in China and low mount surf casting models are only available in South Africa, so the comment re fakes is way off target.

I guess your next rod will have to be a Blue Marlin or a Purglass, so you can keep a few South African's employed:sa::sa::sa::sa:
