I know for a fact that they are banned from bank angling but from LTB nothing yet.

By the way if you guys are looking for platties , I have a contac that can supply me ...

For more info please PM me (private massage) im sure I could hook you up with some platties and im sure the cost wont be so high as what you get them for in the tackle shops.

The Cape Plattanna is the threatened one as now it is only restricted to the cape of good hope.
As for the use of other Plattannas - there is not threat and they are not protected - So unless you are fishing in the Cape of good hope -theoretically you should be okay

to use them live, use a large bass hook, and hook them through the top lip/jaw.... use on a sliding trace.... IF you using a bigger heavier hook. hook through the top of the leg in the thick muscle. Better for the larger ones.

You will save platties by hooking them through the mouth but behind the skull plate, we call this backbrainer. The platties does not break off as easily.

Does anyone know where I can get these in the Durban area?
And how easy are carp to catch for their heads?

Will Sardines work?
