How many of you gents use the H Frame? Spend some time sanding it dawn, only to get back from the coast and it rusted. Well, simple solution is to electroplate the entire frame. Did mine now in Jan 09 and it came out as proper Bling Bling! So for R20 bucks (Cheaper than a can of spray paint) its now for life. Go on and do it, well worth it.

Im sure any shop that do Galvinizing should do electroplating as well. First they remove all the plastic caps from the frame, from there it goes into a acid bath to remove rust etc, and only then it goes into the electroplating bath for 20min. Whole prosess is like 30min. Please make sure(Dont make the same mistake as i did) that all welding done to the frame is properly sanded and leveled with welding, not body putty couse the acid will eat right threw it. Haggers, i paid 20 buck for my frame, and its for life. I can not emagine that it will cost more than R60 to R100 per frame. Even if its R100, at least you know its gona outlive yourself and maby your children.

Japie, go to the army surpluss store in Pta west. They sell the H Frames for next to nothing. Once its electroplated with all the mods, the frame weighs about 1.2kg. In my opinion they are way stronger and more robust than the alliminium frames. I find with a couple of outings on the bricks, that aliminium frame becomes dull, but also will not rust.

I agree, I also got me my Army H frame for like R100 from that store, only problem for me is the weight.
I absolutely love my aluminium one as it is strong and very light! So I dont mind paying say R400 more now to save myself doctors bills for my back when I am an oupa!
