Ive learnt the hard way. Dont buy an expesive camera for fishing trips. My girfriend got proply splashed on the rocks in cofee bay. Needless to say, my expesive camera now resides at the local dump. Good cameras also dont do too well with salt or sand.

Problem with using the phones with good cameras in, is that once they swim, they also cost 6-8 grand to replace. Use your missus's old digital and buy her a new one for mothersday, birthday etc. She will think you are gr8, but actually just wanted the camera for the fishing bag. She wont see through your plan. Then if you break it, she wont be upset with you. Tried and tested that method, and it works

Agree with TF, that Olympus is a great buy....
As to using your phone.... If you want have decent pictures, don't use your phone... no matter what it is, its never gonna take a proper decent printable image....
I used to us a Canon Ixus with a U/W Housing for U/W stuff and fishing the streams and on my Kayak... unfortunately it got broke somehow by my girlfriend....
I use a Canon EOS 400 SLR now... but obviously keep it high and dry....
If you not a Camera nut, but still want something that will take excellent pictures, along with being tough and waterproof, TF's Olympus is hard to beat, and @ 10 Megapixels, print quality is awesome!

Definitely go with the Olympus. Check it out the other day whilst visiting the local camera shop. Small, easy to use and there are agents just about everywhere.
Olympus also have a cheaper model should you only require splash proofing and not the full 10m submersion. I think the splash may handle slight submersion... not too sure. Would like to say 2m... but I am sure I would be lying.
