1 bottle of hot peri peri pick & pay brand (the nando's ripoff), 1 bottle lemon and herb peri peri pick & pay brand (the nandos ripoff), teaspoon garlic.

Mix together and then pour over the prawns and mix so that all the prawns are covered. Leave for 2-3 hours.

Then i make them on the grill over coals. Oh and unless they are tiger prawns i eat them dop and kop and all!!!!

A hint for cleaning, use one of those rapala bait scissors to cut the back shell and make the cut nice and deep into the flesh, makes taking out the sh!tstring easier and also helps to absorb marinade. Use a sosatie stick to take out the sh!tstring, much easier than trying to grab with your fingers.

Feeling hungry now, my recipe as follows:

Fresh prawns (deveined and head off) fresh chopped garlic, ground black pepper, butter, lemon juice, soy sauce and white wine.

Heat butter on low to medium heat, add garlic and saute. Add the prawns, black pepper, lemon juice and soy sauce. Cook for about 2 to 5 mins on low heat and add the white wine (as per own taste) simmer for a while till liqquid dries up.

Best served with Savoury rice and a glass of white wine

Here's the sad part. Since about 3 years ago, i'm officially allergic to prawns. About 30 minutes after eating i start swelling up with big itchy bumps looks like a swarm of mozzies got me... even my eyes start itching. So now i can prepare them, have maybe one and then watch others eat...

Here is how I like to prepare them:

Clean them completely, heads, shell, the works, just the meaty part left over. Soak them in milk mixed with little bit of mustard. Take them out and damp them on paper towel. Put them in my flour mixture (flour / spices of choice – usually fish spice and bit of chili powder). Mix them well to cover fully. Into deep fryer (not too hot). About 3 min a pop. Take out and let it drain off access oil. Enjoy the feast!
