PB Kingfish on the wild side

At last, the Kingfish have arrived. Saw them playing in the waves, but could not reach them. So decided to take on the Angolan dumpers, got soaking wet, but WHAM!!!!Caught at 16h00, spinning with metal spoon. 8" Blue Marlin rod, Shimano Aliveo 6000, 6kg line, what a fight. 30+ minutes, 600m down the beach, huge sidewash. Thanks to Dennis reviving me with a cold one and a relaxing cancer stick.

Deisel: We are in the bush here and the menu is not so great. Only meat is chicken(?) or Picanha(some kind of tough imported steak)and I promise you any fish is good. We bring ingredients from SA and makes curry fish from it and we enjoy that with "fresh" local pau(buns). Vingerlek lekker!
Also keep in mind, have been spinning and fishing for 10 months, nothing(edibles) and yesterday the first kingie came out. Tonight we will enjoy.

Deisel: Shhhhtttt dont tell everybody, but one night a sandshark of 5kg was not released, it went to camp, on the braai, garlic and butter sauce and was actually very nice or maybe it was only our "fish hunger"

Thanks Fedu, have tried for snapper, but nothing so far. The fishing at Porto Amboim is very poor. Whats the best method, sardine bait or spoons?

The fishing is poor there ? Seazonal probably, where exactly are you fishing ?
Are you doing Cuvo river mouth with sinking plugs (rapala x-rap for example) ?

hahahaha i see your point any meat out there is good meat well in that case i hoped you enjoyed it, as im sure you know, none of us like a shark being killed even though they are good eating, at least the sandies are

Well, I've got a recipe:

Cut the fish in Steaks
Marinate 1 hour, with Garlic, Lemon Juice, Salt, Pepper, white wine
Cut some Onions and Garlic and put them in a frying pan with olive oil.
After the Onions get soft (& yellow), add the stakes and turn to fry on both sides.
When fryed add the liquid from the Marinate to the pan.
Serve with boiled potatos.

Then tell me if is not worth eating?

P.S. - When I fish those Jack Crevalle I usually keep a medium one for the pan (got a friend that loves them) & release the others.

Was waiting for the JC at Kwanza river mouth yesterday. Hopefully they get pass Porto Amboim and meet me here further north real soon. Nice catch Oosie. Got a big barracuda yesterday also.

Like Fedu says, Keve river mouth (a bit south of Porto Amboim) might be good and I would apreciate your info about it if possible. I'm considering a trip down there...

Thanks Fedu, basically done it the same way as your recipe(had no onions). This is what the fillet looks like when raw, red meat.
