I'm in for 11 August at Leeuwkop. I was there this last weekend giving my brother a crash course in casting as he is coming with us to Mbolompo next week.

If you go in the gate on the Lonehill side (as per Reefman's directions), just tell the guard at the gate that you are going to the dam. Carry on straight for about 300m and then the dam is on your LHS. The resort is called Wesselbron. Easiest would be to go round to the south side of the dam (opposite side to where the buildings are). There is a R12 charge for day visitors. We will have to cast from the East side as the water level is low and you can cast right across the dam if you cast from South to North.

Hi, luv to attend...but taking advantage of the long weekend and going down to Durban....WES as well is going down same time to the south coast....

I have fisherman's withdrawal I need to see the sea!

Well why don't you guys join us at the Gauteng Social on 11th August, and then we might get something going? At that social, we have several very good anglers, who are I'm sure prepared to part with a few pearls of wisdom. You can bring your gear along and practice too!

why o whay dont ppl make use of long weekends to go Fishing - (had to book a weekend for the family due to other committments so Im off to Vidal/St Lucia as the rest of the year is busy - Kosi in September, Jefferies end of October and then December)

but definitely will try for another date and time again

OK IMPORTANT!!

Thursday 9th August is a public holiday... making that weekend a LONG weekend. There are quite a few guys/gals going away that weekend. What if we change the date to the weekend before... the 4th August, Saturday????

I will unfortunately be able to attend on the 4th. I am forced to go to Mozambique for a long week-end of fishing and snorkelling even though I would FAR RATHER spend my Saturday with you guys.

I suppose that's the way it goes sometimes, and will just have to live with it. 

Please order me a XL t-shirt and I will arrange to pay for and pick it up when I return from Mozambique.
