Nylon Breaking strength

With regards to nylon, I know that the diameter of the line makes a difference with your casting distance so therefore i use the Kingfiher Giant abrasion range of nylons. I am currently using Kingfisher Giant Abrasion 0.45 13.6kg/30lb on my Daiwa Sl 50 SHk and getting a good casting distance. Is this line good for targeting good size edibles and small sharks???

::imp:IM afraid that if i put a line with larger diameter i will not get as much line on my spool and a wont be able to get a good distanse when the situation calls for it?

I used a diameter too big for my 7 foot TigerFish rod, and the casting distance is terrible!!!! It's not too much of a hassle fishing for TigerFish, as you generally don't need to cast far as you fish from a boat. But whenever I fish for anything else and I need to cast further, it's a pain in the @$$. From then on, whenever I buy rod/reel/line, I make sure to match them correctly.

Just fine for your reel, could even go down if you only targetting eds and only small sharks. If you decide to fish heavier ineds, just change to 600m .38 braid and 300m of stronger KGAbrasion.

Hmm firstly, if you comfortable with that diameter, you getting good distance etc well, by all means stay with it bro.:dude:

BUT just a lil thought.... Ever had this cross ure mind when it comes to the actual strength of the nylon u using?

When one say, gets hooked up in the bricks, ahh, you give a lil slack, pull? ai, still not getting loose? pull again and again? still nothing? You then decide to straight line it and break it off...... Think about it...... how much pressure are you really putting on that line untill it snaps? Quite right, a hell of a lot..... Now imagin, u have over 150m of line out, the stretch in that, the flex of the rod etc.... ure line can handle quite a bit of pressure.

So quite right there MJ, one can def down scale a bit more. But as Loams said, always match ure line to ure rods specs.

Hmmm, just my 5 Yen.

:vic::thanx alot guys, it seems that ill be sticking with my nylon, from experience I have learnt that it does have really high resistance against breaking!!!
