Well folks, that's about it. I trust you enjoyed the posts on this thread and look forward to some of you joining us in November when we head back to "The land of the long white cloud" where we will once again do battle with these awesome fish at the famed Ranfurly Banks.

With this having been my 2nd visit to fish in New Zealand, I can't wait for my 3rd!!!!

Many thanks Fernando, greatly appreciated. It was wonderful having Linda there, and within a few hours of boarding Enchanter she was accepted by the gang as "one of the boys". I am very proud of her achievements on Enchanter.

She has documented the trip from  "Ladies Perspective" and this article will be published in the May Edition of Rock, Surf & Deep!!!! I think she has done a fantastic job on this article and also thanks to Dean Pretorius, Lynton Nocke and the crew from Picasso Headline.

It will be an entertaining read for the guys and girls out there, and hoperfully it will inspire the ladies in our lives to spend more time on the water with us guys. The girls will regularly outfish us.........

Is there a special technique to holding up massive fish like that bass? I've caught Nile Perch that size and three of us struggled to lift the b88stards cos they're so awkward and slippery.. Are there another two guys hidden behind the fish helping?

Dave - It was a real mission for Brad to lift the fish - note it is resting on the floor and he is leaning against the side of the boat..

I replied cos Roy has gone fishing AGAIN. He has gone to Fogo - delivering the boat and fishing David's Shoal. He left Richards Bay yesterday loaded for bear with popping and jigging gear.

Well done Linda for your PB's, very few kiwi lads can boast the same ::S.

To answer David's question, yes there is a technique to holding up big fish.  There is a "pocket" just inside the gill plates of these fish where your fingers can grip the fish at the plates.  Arms locked and the fish helped onto the angler, this is achieveable - if the angler has enough energy left. 

Me, I'm usually puckered out and don't really want to risk getting a knee full of spines and I can do without a full frontal slime fest.
