I took the Penkoppe of Limpopo (U/13's) including Mini Enigma to the Vaal Dam for a practice session as their kick off for the 2010 National U/13 Champs
We had our opening meetings and setting the scene and started fishing at 09:00 and by 13:00 it was hot and humid so the kids went a swimmin.
John-Craig had opportunity to test his new 11' IM8 I had just built for him on Friday. At 10 he was able to fish at 105m with a M1.5 and a best cast of 127m with a P4. Not at all to shabby for a 10 year old of 1.3m tall. i had a go with the rod and my first cast I managed over 160m with a P4 and then averaged 132m with M1.5
These are new and absolutely amaizing blanks that we sourced for JL Customs (Johan Louwies) Quick action and super, SUPER, Super super Casting rods.
He caught plenty carp but by 11:00 the fish were quiet and we soon found that they had moved in to around 40m so we fed at 40m and were soon all catching fish (Mixed Muddies, Carp and Grassies)
Bait 2 Vampire floaties on one hook and 1 Vampire floatie plus dough on other hook. Trident and MX on the feedbol
2pm and time to check the operation of our new Competition legal keepnets.
We replaced the tennis ball with a top fitted "Chunky Zip" this makes emptying the net childs play as no fish get hooked behind the keepnet lid.
