Evening everyone.
So here's the deal, I've been carp fishing for like since forever, but now my girlfriend also wants to get into fishing, but she isn't into the whole "sit and wait for hours until the big one picks up your bait"...So she suggested fly fishing, and it's something I always wanted to do, and here is the perfect oppertunity, started practising some casts, with a rod i borrowed from the neighbour, and he isn't much of a fisherman, the rod just ads to his collection of things he buys, that he'll never use, so he's not of much help, anyway also been watching some fly fishing dvd's, and she's really into the whole idea.
So I'm seeing this as a new challenge, and just want to find out from the pro's, well basicly ALOT of things, as I am pretty much clueless when it comes to fly fishing.
Okay to start off a rod and reel, not the most expensive, but something of good quality, a good alround freshwater rod.
Secondly, locations to fish in and around Pretoria which will be ideal for beginners.
And last but not least, the basic MUST have flies to begin with.
Feel free to add anything else that I have not mentioned here, ANY info would really be of alot of value.
