Darren at Nashua reckons their system shows no problem.
I now have to go to Nashua shop to have the phone settings checked.

very similar scenario as described earlier with data services and BIS services - which one is selected?

Must ensure that the BB is set up to use BIS only.
Here we go - again.

Daar is n Internet Profile daar wat jou streaming sal gee no matter what you do.

As dit daar is, dan is jou foon sharp.

I'm a bit scared of factory settings - don't know what else will change.

Top right on the screen I have 3g, not 3G and a full signal strength.

I have removed the battery and restarted and on the browser now have: There is insufficient coverage to process your request - bla bla bla.

I think Nashua have not reconnected this service yet?

So your BIS service is offline then. You have to contact Nashua, or get the number for their BIS helpdesk and get them to reactivate ASAP. Has it always been on 3g, or has it been on 3G with the Blackberry Symbol next to it?

Some interesting posts here and they guys are correct ....Andries i work for Vodacom data department and there are only 3 occasions that we will charge a customer if they have Bis.

1) using the phone as a modem

2) streaming eg you tube etc

3) using incorrect apn settings.

do the following. if all is check and the customer is still charged we would send a request to our back office to investigate......... We've also picked up that Whatsapp are charging customer's even thou they have Bis.....

Go to Options – select Advanced Options – select TCP/IP – untick ‘APN settings enabled’.

Also ensure that the correct browser is used:

Go to Browser – click the Menu key on the phone – select Options – select Browser Configuration. Ensure that the browser is defaulted to Internet Browser/ Blackberry Browser.

Check the bookmarks the sub is using. Some may have added book marks when they were using the incorrect browser setting. This means that the bookmark will still use the Vlive browser even when the default browser is internet.

Go to the browser on the main menu and then press the Blackberry (menu) key and select Bookmarks – Scroll to a bookmark and highlight a bookmark and press Blackberry key and select Edit Bookmark. It will display what browser is being used for that bookmark. Advise sub to check all bookmarks

just an interesting stat..... if our data department takes let's say 20,000 calls a month  ( remember we do modem set-ups, routers, email enq etc etc etc) about 15,000 of those calls are blackberry PROBLEMS , issues.......

Iphone all the way!!!!!

Thanks Elf

When I went looking for 'Browser Configuration' (not found yet) In 'Browser Options' I found a tick next to" Switching to carrier network for streaming media"
Now this makes it easier to understand that when video streaming, the till starts ticking over as the BIS is not providing this service.
