My new kick boat

there's a much easier option, just get yourself an inflatable and learn to picth it in a sequence and take it apart in the opposite sequence, that way you can cover more water, sit stand lie down move around (if you don't clutter the floor with the ammount of gear they stick into a 21ft skeeter), dry, stable, quick, silent, spacious (relative to the angler) and after three years of using it I got to the point where I cast as the anchor is decending to the bottom, already, gets pulled to the deck whilst making a massive wake that sank a Triton @ RDW a year ago to the next spot.....:kaykak

Brian what about adding Stability pontoons to the side of a fishing Kayak???
Just a questions

Ryan, I never read the whole thread and maybe you're considering pontoon stability because you want to stand up.

If not, there has to be something wrong.

Faulty is a kayak fisherman that has landed a 37Kg YF Tuna in the ocean and he never fell over/off.

If you guys know of Bass that can capsize a paddle ski count me in.

Where are they::S and what's the record?

It is a very viable idea Ryan. Kayak manufacturers in the states have done this and just about everything else. Its just limiting in terms of speed.

Gawie, prokayak fished standing up the whole morning at Rust de Winter. It was in the spawn and he was sight fishing!

An interesting design. The advantage is that the pontoons are easily stowed away. Taking extra pontoons for stability causes a storage problem. But it can most definitely be done.

Water Strider

Hi Bassist11, seems that you're looking for a portable fishing craft but not getting the answers you need. I have developed a type of movable fishing deck which I call the Water Strider. It's manufactured in our factory in Silverton. They cost R 8 300,00 and you can either paddle or propel it using an electric motor. I've even hooked it up to a 2hp two-stroke outboard which was great fun!

Hi Koos, take a look at the Water Strider which requires no kicking and no wet backside. Also, you'll be sitting comfortably and can either paddle or propel your self using a small motor (either electric or very small outboard).

Oh, and they cost R 8 300,00 ......These craft are handmade in our factory in Silverton, Pretoria using high-grade fibreglass materials and marine ply for the decks. They are compact, portable and require no pumping up!
