Hey guys fish were caught in the "surf" zone from a small ark. Around 75m from shore in a opening in a kelp bed.

Thanks for the great support guys. I think once your mind set to drop has changed you could possibly catch more fish than with conventional bait fishing. I thought about it .... I sit there casting and casting and casting and I don't catch anything, BUT the the line with my bait is also not catching anything! BUT with the drop shot I/the lure is covering much much more area than the bait that is just sitting there in one spot, SO that's why I just continued to throw and throw, make no mistake if the fish were hanging on the bait the drop shot would have been packed away (if it was not as productive)! But while they were considering there option the drop shot covered the area and found the fish!!

Well done DSM. Fantastic. Now you know why I've stopped spending money on pille. I've caught most of my fish on dropshot. It is curious how they prefer the shorter fishies. I could not find Mcarthy 4" jerk minnows in  the shops. Last week I threw a 5" baby elf with no success. Then out of mere frustration I cut off 1" and Whala. Success. Landed 3 nice size and 2 under size kabeljoue in a very short time. Still looking for some 4" baby elf. they seem to work well here by us.

Hey DSM

Congrats that's a leka size on dropshot. I know the feeling.
I remember my first and last time I dropshotted. Caught a 2kg cob just fooling around lol. Going to start dropshotting properly soon.

DSM check out the last few pages on wkca 2010. A lot has been said there about the spot where you caught your first one. Now that I think of it, I also caught my first kabeljou on dropshot at the same place. See post 123 on page 7 of wkca 2010. I have found that the jerk minnow 4" baby elf works best for me, but I cannot find them around here, I mean in Melkbos.
