Buoyancy Certificate you should have got with the boat, then U need COF (certificate of fitness - ur saftey equip etc)

14.6 cabin boat on the sea, where about you want to take it, Think you may have to choose your days VERY carefully, does it have a wet deck??

Yes you need a buoyancy certificate (even for dams).

It will be fine in a harbour on a decent day i.e. protected water.

Although not ideal, you CAN take your boat to sea. But it's built for the sea in the same way that a VW Chico is built for off-roading.

Hey K, well first of all you gonna need a skippers ticket no matter where you go and secondly I would suggest using the cruizer a bit to gain some valuable experience that can help a lot going out to sea in the near future. I fully agree with the chaps as not to take her to sea! Also I'm sure the majority of the boating stores do do buoyancy conversions and pending the condition of the deck it shouldn't cost more that R2000 with your certificate included. I'm not sure if all the provinces fall under the same rules, but you can never go wrong fully complying with the requirements! For example you never know when you might need an emergency steering??? Well welcome to this awesome site and hope you have a blast in the boating world!:welcomesea::kaykak

Hi There it seem to me that you don't have any experience with boats inland waters is the best to learn if i were you i'd rather pay someone to take me out to sea there you can see how its dun it's much cheaper than losing your boat hope that help you .

Hi Kujo I have the exact same motor. But thats on a boat that is still in progress. If you need parts for her you can get almost all her parts (pirate parts) from Accesory Spares in Durban. Mine is old as hell but still runs like a dream. Anybody knows what year model these motors are?? Thought mine was the only one of its kind left on the face of the earth.
