Mullet on fly

Today I noticed people throwing bread into to river for the ducks to eat. Mullet attacted the bread like crazy. I grabbed my 6 weight rod out of the car and a small empty hook. I picked up some foamalite(the white packing stuff) and rubbed a few of the little balls off it. I then hooked one ball onto the hook and cast into the floating bread. Sure enough a nice striped mullet took it very fast. I hooked a few during my lunch time. Cape moonies also takes it like that.

Mullet on a light rod is more fun than I imagined. I will definitly do it again

Hi

I also had a bit of luck with mullet a few weeks back. I was actually targetting garrick with a flipper and a decent size mullet landed up smashing my fly! I was quite suprised to see such aggressive feeding behaviour from what I have always thought to be a pretty docile fish.
