Not sure if anyone is interested in having a look at what Mteri is like at the moment. Spent a few days there in Jan and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Have a look.

I had a great time there in 2011, last I heard Mugabe's mob had taken over and gutted resort I was at.. where did you guys stay?

That all calmed down and lodges are up and running. One is self catering and one fully catered. Nothing fancy but all you need.

Good to hear
I had a few good bass but I saw a 5kg bass hooked in less than a foot of grassy water, explosive take on a topwater, it was something I'll never forget.
The place is beautiful, wild and the action can be hot hot hot.

We also found two huge bass floating who had choked on kurper stuck in their mouths, one we revived after taking the dead kurper out but the other was well deceased.
One of the best bass venues in Africa.

For sure it is DocPhil! Fishing not quite what it used to be but still up there with the best. Dam is low due to drought but catching those Nillies is something relatively new and adds some variety to ones trip.

Cheers Jacques9 and rbacht still new to this video editing story but a pretty cool way to keep a record of trips.

I luckily get to Mteri at least 4 times a year. Extremely fortunate!
