Hey,
It all depends where you are going to fish... But the following species can be targeted...
Kob, Cracker, Leervis, Roman, Bronze Bream, Stone bream, Odd bellman around but more winter species, some steenbras, Shad, yellowbelly, jan bruin, some yellowtail around in some areas, das, wilde perd, santer, billy bartel, poensies all year, streepie, Grunter...
In eds:
Diamonds, Duckys, blue ray, black ray in deep water areas, Raggies, bronzies(normally young fish as the big fish peak around November), small duskys, spotty, hound, catsharks

Yet again depends on what you targeting in what water and near what structure...
Raggies Id go with livie, tail head or bonnie or Mackie...
Bronzies, duskies live mullet, dead mullet, gorrie, strepie flap, and smaller throw baits... even on occy leg as they become thick!!!
Diamond I caught most of mine on bonnie, Mackie, pillie throw bait, chokka and occy leg.
Duckbil on whole chokka, occy leg and whole occy...
Spotties and hound on any bait from mullet head to chokka and livies.
The odd st joseph comes out as well, if the water cools and I get most of them on chokka...

Hi, Sorry to steal on the thread but father-in-law and I am coming down to Gouritsmouth from- 24-29 sept would like to mostly target edibles but want to try to get a decent pull one day, where are the best inedible spots and what species to target this time of year?

Thanks will give it a try, what species do you pick up there? And how is the terrain? Should you go all out with tapered leaders to steel before the stopper and heavy duty slides? Have you ever done swimbaits there? @ Slimy, will def do, I will also target some garick on fly, and then cob and steenies in the river mouth
