I launch from Durban Harbour on a regular basis. I haven't as yet launched from Shelley Beach. The furthest south I've launched so far was at Mtwalumi, just before Hibberdene.
Very nice site when the estuary doesn't open.

Howzit Riyadh,

I have absolutely no problem helping you with logging hours. Do you have your own boat or would you be using mine? I also need to know what category license you are writing, and if your are doing sheltered or surf launches.

For surf launches, particularly, it is required that you do them with a registerd SAMSAA instructor (12 launches and one exam launch to complete your ticket) as he/she has to sign you off for every session. I can sign you off for hours logged in open water. Just contact the SAMSAA office and they will provide you with a list of instructors in the Durban area.

as dave sievright has told me about the surf launches

i used to be in school with the son  anton getts of shelly beach ski boat club he also does the sur launches at a charge will let you know how it goes also yes i would requireing to use ur boat for now

Hi Dirk,

I still have her. No takers so far. I think the chances of selling her now are getting slimmer by the day. People just don't have spare cash to spend anymore. Anyway, sardine season is approaching fast, so I'll hang on to her for a bit longer.
