Great report as usual.. Nice photo's, make's me really sad to be looking at them from here!

Remember that fight not so long ago you had off over an hour? Well I've heard that diver's in the backline same area you where fishing had seen huge sandshark's & ray's so this is what you may of caught? who know's..

Hi Shane, yeah was at Pothole. Gave you a call and it went to voicemail. Was scratching with crackers, every bait was getting finished by the peckers. Did have one nice pull but lost it about 2 metres in front of me. Probably a nice sized bronzie. Went to the Block after that, saw a shark cruising around off the point, some buddies threw out a bonnie head and waited, I left 10 minutes later.

Howzit Keane - sorry boet, that number is not a mobile its a Vox ADSL Phone , so if I have left already I am out of phone reach.
Was at Orange Rocks, pity we did not hook up as I would have gone to The Block with you.

Its strange that you were getting demolished by peckers at Pothole, where we could not even get a bite at Orange.
Fish are really unpredictable, I wonder what made them all go that side, as there was absolutely nothing happening our side.

Keep well and we will meet up soon.

It seems that crackers are producing the bites, also tried with prawn and nothing touched it. Pumping crackers is time and hard work, so it was'nt funny wasting it on the peckers, lol.

Sweet report and some pics there that are so enticing my mouth is literally watering!!
How you could not get something in that water is beyond me but have had that myself! Everything is so perfect you feel the buzz and then to BLANK!! None the less - beautiful surrounds and good company make for an awesome experience.

Hi Abaddon33, Yip, we gotta keep on trying until everything is perfect to catch a beaut of a fish.

Algy has the date that the fishing picks up here on the S.Coast 22 May and he has promised that he will make sure that I am ready to catch a nice garrick when they come back.

Most of the fishermen are saying that things improve around May, so I an looking very forward to then.


@Keane, it seems that crackers are the bait of all bait for scratching. We tried everything on Sat morning and not even a touch. There was one incident of Johnny getting bit right off on a light trace, but other than that...nothing.

the temp of the water is warm on top but very cold on the bottom 15 deg even on the boat the weekend a lot of barbel (bishopbream)and there have been no slinger a sure way to tell th water is not right on the bottom i bet when we start catching these fish again the rock and surf sceene will change a good indication is also the huge amounts of redeye and macs a cold water fish (in feb not right bru)port edward has been frot with them guys catching 2000 a morning. but it seems to be over maybe a sighn of warmer water
