Millstream Report

So after arriving at millstream shortly after 2 on Wednesday after somoe dodgey driving from the trucks. I very quickly unpacked and set up to go to lake crystable a catch and release dam which holds some big fish (supposedly). So I get there at about 2:45 and arrive to a very icey cold wind that was pumping right into my face. So after an hour I give up on the wind and head to the weirs where the baby fish stay. I get there and have not had any bite and start worrying that I have forgotten how this fishing works but then I get one but nothing of great size. That afternoon I managed four fish and kept one for the pot.

The next morning I head back up to lake crystable the catch and release dam to try for the big fish. For the first 3 hours I get nothing but then I manage to hook something this fish takes me about 80meters out and after about 15minutes I land a nice size 1,6kg rainbow on a red humpy,a few minute later I hook another fish and after a good fight I land my first ever brown trout of 1,5kg...later I got a serious fish and this took close to the last winds on the braid, when I finally land it its huge and a Pb for me a 2,6kg rainbow trout. In total that day I managed 6 fish a 900gram one, the 1,5kg brown, a 1,6kg rainbow, a 1,2kg male, a good 2,2kg male that fought for 30 minutes and my pb of 2,6 kgs.

Then today I don't have much to report on only a few small trout.

To be continued.....

Pics to follow.

1,6kg rainbow

Hey.

The fish where all caught sight fishing with dry flies watching them come upa and take the fly. I caught a few on DDD and red humpys. The water was very warm and most fish took a LONG time to revive.
