Ja dankie Stinkmossel....like I said friends of where down there and the gate was open....not sure waht is going on here then....will have to wait and see what Stinkmossel says....and will also go invistigate as soon as I am back in town....

I came home a bit earlier today and decided to drive past the spreeuwalle gate, it was open. But I spoke to the old watchman and his words were:"ja meneer ons sluit die hek na vyf om die skemels en druggies te probeer uithou, maar as meneer hulle wil gaan vis vang, hoot net ons is in die karvaan en ons sal oopsluit." For those that don't get the lingo: gate gets locked after 5pm, but hoot if you want to go fishing and they will unlock the gate as they are in the caravan.

Then I drove to Oostewal, the boom is still down across the access road with a cheeky sign saying: no parking in front of this gate as it's a "tow-away zone". Will have to see what's going to happen here as there are loads of people very annoyed with the situation.

As I said on an earlier post, get involved, write letter to the press etc etc.............

OKAY , WHAT I WILL DO THEN IS GO TO HIS SHOP AND BUY A NICE, SPICy, HOT CURRY... AND THEN GO PARK A PPFFFFT PRRRRRRRRR in front of his gate, and see him tow that beauty away! OR I CAN GO FOR A CREAMY CARBONARA... seeing his italian.

Guys I think you all need to keep a eye on the boom at the entrance to the Oostewalle dirt road. I went down there today to pump some prwans. There were two contractors working on a trench/foundation in front of it. When I asked them what is was for they said the owner was planning to put a sliding gate across the road. Which means if it materialises that one cannot climb over/under the boom which is less than waste height at the moment and keeps vehicles for now.

Surely access to the sea by the public cannot be completely blocked out?

had a quick look at the develpments website - this is one of the things they say

"This allows the public ownership and unimpeded access over the land and to the beachfront."

hmm not sure how this ties in with the boom/gate/threats to prosecute people for trespassing

I am heading to the WESKUS tomorrow.....MMmmmm......cant wait going to make his life very unpleasent for a very long time....or should I say he will get GATE VOL of me very soon.....lol!!!

What the hell is it with these foreigners?

They come here to our beautifull country & think they can just  buy our land & restrict access like they want?

I mean really now they beaches are there for everyone to enjoy.

I agree remove that gate.

nicely though i can still use it at home:::S
