Loteni campsite

Hi

Can anyone please give me some info on the Loteni Campsite. I know no electricity but things like ablution, shop for basics etc. etc.

Hi, we went a while back as a family. There was a small shop at the entrance with very basic supplies. The campsite is further up the road -not really walking distance if you want something quickly. You can get the direct number to the camp form KZN Parks and they will tell you exactly what they stock etc. The outlook from the campsite is majestic as you are right up looking onto the hills. There were ablutions - showers, toilets, water washing area etc. Take a trip to the cool pools -a great spot to have a picnic.

we have just serviced the generator at the loteni site. what a beautiful place. just becarful of those cheeky baboons....got chased there a few times.

Lake? Is there stillwater fishing as well? Is the lake big enough for a float tube?

There is a small dam called Simes Dam and it's for exclusive use of the people staying at Simes Cottage. If you go to Underberg you can use your float tube - try UHTFC for day tickets- best dams for tubing Triangle, Palframns Dam or Lake Isabella

malgas is right about the dam been exclusive to simes residents. but im sure if u ask nicely they will let u fish.

as i said in my pm....its a very small lake and its stocked with 10-15kg mirrors that just cruise in a shoal all day. if u stealthy enough....a well presented dry on a 5pound tippet will get them to bight.

but as mentioned....float tubing is lekker at underburg. i was there yesterday and isabella is producing good at the moment.
