Bite the bullet mate, they are worth it 
Trust your knots and hopefully nothing bites you off .
Have a look at the savage range , they do a great little crab as well - prick of a thing to cast , but has a great action.
pretty sure they come from the states , so they should be cheaper on the pocket .

Crabs - don't let them smell another plastic - gooey mess - the single hook ones also look good
Thanks for the tip , 'luckily' mine have never touched a plastic .
I have always just kept my lures separate , hardly ever to my hard bodies even touch , they all need there own slot in the tray as it gives me the sh#ts when the hooks get tangled ...
Did you manage to save the crab ?
Did you place it in ice water or some coke to get the sticky goo off ?

Just had a look in the garage - 4 of them were affected - its basically the plastic legs of the crab that went wonky.
One day when the fishing is slow and you bored - throw the crab 10m onto the sand / bank - then walk it / reel it back to you into / towards the water (assuming you fishing off a boat)- haha unbelievable how realistic it looks on land

Best crab lure I have is the Baby CW Crab great on grunter as well as a yellowfish killer in the rapids .

I will have to try that with the crabs , I have thrown them on the platforms under the bridges and let them "walk" and plop into the water colum , but it's not normally a long walk .

I had too google that lure , have never heard of it . Managed to find a YouTube preview from back in 07 , but nothing since . I can't seem to find any tackle stores that stock them either. That little blue one would be awesome here in the summer as the blue manna crabs come into the Swan river to bread in there thousands, the whole food chain changes .
Like the fact that it can swim over the weed beds - flathead will be all over it .

Yup Willo - can get replacement legs - just need to wait till have a big order - often not that easy to find a online store in Oz that ships to SA that also has everything you need - courier costs from that side unfortunately prohibitive to buying bits and pieces from various places
