That's an awesome bit of kit , I would be to scared to take that near the water ..... My luck it would go for a swim sooner than later ,
I will stick to my underwater camera , it doesn't mind a bit of abuse. ;)

Thanks for the pics of these lures mate , I haven't come across any of them . I am all over most new lures and am on the "big boys" sites daily looking for that new perfect lure .
I have a few flutter sticks , but not in that size or colour , I haven't been able to stock up on flutter sticks here for a while now. Luckily found a couple on my last trip to SA.

I love fishing lite targeting the smaller 1-5kg gt's , goldens,queenies etc. up north . Normally run 4lb on a 1000 on 1 - 3kg rod , if I get smoke a few times I will step up to the 6lb outfit - 2500 on a 2 - 4kg rod .

I have got a heap of other outfits that I take with , but these two get the biggest work out .

My lures are finally on there way , ( Shiro has sorted me out , thanks again)
Hang onto those Ikakko units as there is no stock and apparently an issue with the mould at Duo so they out of production at the moment.
I did manage to find two on eBay , will try not to loose them to quickly .

Those little lures look so good , I needed a rod to match , picked up the Diawa Zillion mlfs 1/16 - 3/8 for my upcoming trip.
Hopefully pull a bonefish on a Ikakko, I know it's been done , but it will be a first for myself on a hard body lure . Im looking forward to fishing these lures .

Hey Willo, sorry I did not respond earlier, been out on leave, thats a bummer on the Ikkako's.

Those Zillion rods look nice, reckon I am going to try the SMITH Dark Shadow TZ 7'7.

My Magnums arrived - i am looking forward to getting them wet . They are the perfect size for those honed in flats fish that feed on hardy heads . sexy looking lure .
Thinking about giving them a coat of resin before they get to many battle scars . Only because they are not off the shelf item and Shiro was also battling to get stock and had to settle for what he could get .

Those Smith rods look amazing , should be able to get a awesome cast out on the lighter lures being the 7'7
I do a lot of wading and sometimes battle with a 7ft as i am standing to deep , was looking at getting a Shimano Zodias JDM 268L 4-8lb Spin Rod , but went with the Daiwa as the blank just felt a bit more crisp imo .

7 weeks to go until i get up there , will hopefully have a few good sessions and be able to post a few decent pics.The moon phase wont be the best , but i have some awesome tides for the area's i like to fish - wind dependent .

I have the one on the top left and have managed a few bream and Flathead on it with slow hops over the flats , not sure if i have mastered the correct action for it . After getting the Cranka crabs i haven't used it much .
That pink looking prawn looks interesting with the wings to help it swim , would be interested to hear how you go with those lures .

Just recently moved from Transkei back to PE - yup that top one would've been deadly for bream / snapper while I was still in TK - for PE it was bought with grunter in mind - there is no doubt the flathead / gurnard will be all over it - (we have heaps here for the moment)

How you enjoying the crabs - haven't got around to using mine much in PE (keep taking them with but end up not using)but have a good few plans for them. In Transkei they worked bloody well (odd mullet and small sole plus the usual suspects grunter, bream, rock cod, flathead etc) Got a few more crabs in with the same order of lures above.

The second and 4th ones down have also worked quite nicely previously (Transkei) with most estuary species above including kingies, gt's and pickhandles. Still need to try the 3rd one down, but should do nicely.

Hmmm to many lures (and plans) not enough time

Those cranka crabs have done well, mainly used them for bream and flathead - they love them .
had a few small gt's and goldens on them up north and had a few of them get crushed by suspected blue bone.

I see on the east coast they have them in 9.5 grams now , i have been waiting for them as they will be easier to cast in a breeze , those little ones are great in the rivers as you not normally having to cast to far .
Have not seen them in the Perth stores yet , but will order online .

I know what you mean , to many lures for to many styles of fishing and defiantly not enough time to use them . Just gave a mate about 150 lures and started to cull my collection , but then Blaasoppie showed off some new lures that i had not seen before and just had to have ....... ;) and its starting to grow again - much to the wife's disgust , she probably would of been alright except i had to get another rod / reel / braid - you know what its like .

I am a fishing addict and like to try new things all the time . always on the search for that new perfect lure,rod etc.


Have you eaten any of those flathead ? they are bloody awesome eating !

xtc- Those lures look the business. What is the name of the top lure, the vibe? And is that a minimaru, 3rd one down?

Willo- just googled the Cranko Crab. They look like an awesome lure. We have a house on the SW marshes in South Carolina and they would be excellent for red drum. (their base prey are fiddler crabs)

They are deadly mate , well worth the investment.
You can even fish them as a bait , just cast it out , wait for it to hit the bottom and leave it there , the little claws do enough to trigger a bite.
I normally cast it out let it settle , jig it with a slow hop , let it settle etc. doesn't take long to get a bite.
Apparently the boys took ten yrs to master the making of the lure .
Have just seen(online) they have brought out a new one with a single hook through the body that looks a bit more heavy duty than the small treble hooks.
I have just ordered the 9.5 gram one from over east , no one has the single hook ones yet , that i could find .

The cobs,grunter even the bream in the rivers would be all over this tasty little morsel .

This is also another great crab presentation @ 39 grams they will be great in deeper water as alternative to fishing the standard plastics
