Hi Master.
I can't say you missed a great social cause it was more than that.
It would be unfair to wright up a report, cause Reefman got the pics and again, he was instrumental during the day.
The short short version - Nymane casts lika a ... - Holden can learn a few things on technique from this chap - Young Marcelle crossed 100m - repeatedly, Tony made the bimini - six, seven, eight maybe more times.
Emperor and Jonah introduced themselves and the other 30 or so Sealiners made it great.
We missed you KZN'ers - you are a good crowd and we'd like to have you here next time.
P.S. - the sun got to us - again, we look like tomatoes.

Yep another simply great Social we had...what an amazing turnout - about 30-35 Sealine members who pitched on the day... some who just visited (Thanks Raggieman) and others who couldn't stay long...

The day started early for some of us... :?

At 10am, Simen and Sarah de Jager were the first to arrive, and at this point, we need to mention and give thanks to Simen for going to all the effort to get the H-frames for so many Sealine members. Simen, you've outdone yourself with the way you selflessly provided for so many members. We thank you kind sir! We've all got some great H-frames and some brill ideas...
Big ups to Simen!!:clap12

Then Ant arrived, with his box full of name tags... thankyou Antonio for the effort you and your missus put in... it really helps so much when you know who the person is you're talking to. Thankyou!
:clap12

Then everyone started arriving, all except the main "organizer" of the event, one Land locked, who failed to even pitch and will have some serious questions to answer at a later stage... you sir are officially the FADER!

Jonah, Emperor and their entourage arrived about 2 hours later... so without Land Locked, Emperor and Jonah.... shees I was starting to have palpitations as to the event going belly-up, no food, no t-shirts, no prizes!!!! .... but eventually they arrived. KZN okes don't know JHB highways too well....

In the meantime, we were being superbly entertained by GL... who opened up his boot for us to see his kit on it's way to Kilwa ruins.... Nepptune, you had to see this... personally I've NEVER seen anything like it in my life, and I hope someone took a photie - but boxes of the hugest and most beautiful poppers, jigs you ever did see, along with a pile (about 5 or 6) of Stella Coffee grinders.... ok Nepps, I finally admit... they are quite pretty after all - even better than the Saltiga... and the Carpenter, ai! What can I say?!

An amazing treat to see all these goodies, stuff that most of us will only ever dream of... and on that note... we wish Graeme a fabulous trip to Kilwa... on another thread we will be keeping everyone up-to-date with events in Tanzanian waters by means of regular SMS's via International roaming....

I was really chuffed with the turn out... it just shows how Sealine has opened up some great new avenues of friendship and learning for it's members...

Much coaching, casting competitions and just plain bragging was done.... it was amazing to see the improvement in AndriesH and his son Marcelle, who both put in their Personal bests on Saturday (of 120m+) and of Ant - how he had improved since the last social!! ... some other casual smooth casting machines like Weedeater and Kumz, eish, poetry in motion... and even John Liverdos, who practiced for all he was worth... t'was lovely to see... guys were comparing sticks, reels, sharing equipment, swopping, we all even had a go with Emperor's Daiwa Saltiga Ishidai, loaded only with power pro and a digital line counter... hmmm lovely stuff. Weedeater brought out his WAFTS ... even more hmmmm. Garrick brought out his newly aquired Lion Rod and the piece-de-resistance was the Carpenter that GL brought out and put to the test.... eita!! thats a beautie!
Then a latecomer, who missed the photos, Mnyamane pulls in, loads up his kit and proceeds to casually pump some casts out there that were much bigger than his slight frame! Well done Sipho! Those casting lessons you were talking about.... got news for you bud, you're gonna be doing them!

So amongst the mixing and socializing, I was a bit snowed under and apologize if I neglected anyone, but from my perspective I met a truly great bunch of blokes...  Emperor, LGF, Weedeater, Poenskop - all the long standing members - after ALL this time, to get to finally meet you okes was great! I just wish we had had more time to chat. Next time...

We met a lot of the newer members too, from the very keen beginners to the up and coming Development anglers... a wide spectrum of good okes! Special mention must be made of Preggs and Trevally, for being such good sports in trying out Multipliers for the first time...

Just before lunch, we had the Raffle, Sarah de Jager did the honours of the draw, and lo-and-behold... she draws her own number!! Hahhahha... if I wasn't holding the cup, I would never have believed it... Well done to Sarah for winning first prize in the draw and to Cheapest Fishing Tackle  for very generously sponsoring the prizes - they always come to the party for SEALINE, so give them your support guys! Thanks Mohamad from Cheapest Fishing Tackle, you guys are stars! 2nd Prize went to Kumz who won an Abu Garcia reel!

On a sour note, apologies go to the those members who never got a t-shirt, don't know who stuffed that up!:headb

But anyway, after a luvly chow and much socializing, we had a quick Knot demo, and finally.... finally, Garrick managed to get his fingers round a proper Fig 8, (well done Riyadh, I knew you could do it bud!!;)). Hopefully, some new knots were learnt, lots of Bimini's tied, (even ones on the plane to Kilwa right now...!) And some of the more experienced guys like Mnyamane and co, were very chuffed to see the soft, compact and neat little Bimini done, the one that NEVER comes undone - (courtesy of Expat from WP at the last social).

All in all, a really great day, great weather, good chow and some great blokes (and gals!).

Thanks once again to Emp for SEALINE!

Master and Jace, we missed you guys!

Next social, we have been promised an escort to Blaauwpan dam...

Reefer out.

The elusive "FADER" sits in the middle. LGF, bru, no problem, you lost that title completely on Saturday and transferred it to Land locked - officially.

Vlakvark, LGF and the Emperor

Oh and by the way LGF, I hope your "back" feels much better on Monday!
