Law Enforcement

Had an incedent today at Millers Point and not sure whether to laugh about it or feel worried on how things are turning out these days. Got out of the water with my 2 red roman and were greeted by Law Enforcement, ended up telling me that i was not allowed to catch roman at all, aswell as that we were diving in a restricted area, which even being a new spiro new that this was not the case. We eventually took her word for it.  Then the other officer went to get his measuring tape from his car but at the same time radioed other law enforcement officers to clarify if the red roman were actually legal.  It was then confirmed that we were in the right all along, our fish were the corect size and we were allowed to catch two (2) red roman per day. So what does that say about their knowledge of what is actually going on.:fbash

Hi

Were the enforcement from MCM or Sanparks? Sanparks has a darker green uniform and a kudu/bokkie emblem on their kit.

Please let me know.

Thanks

I spoke to the marine manager at TMNP. He is willing to follow up.

Call Sanparks on 021 701 8692 and ask for Mr. Adams.

He will ask you for an email and he will look into it.

Regards

Reading this thread you have to ask the question ,"do we have to many laws and restrictions and to few people to enforce these laws?"

Just be grateful that they didn't ask you to produce your licence as you were getting out of the water. I've had this done to me on a number of occasions ( at least twice a crayfish season) . A friend has suggested that I carry last years old licence in a c%@di. :fbash

Try and get one of those information brochure that has all the regulations , laws and diving area's on it. Just make sure that its the latest version.
