lANGEBAAN LIGHT TACKLE MISSION

i decided to do a light tackle mission for some steenies and blacktail on langebaan spreeuwalle, as i heard of some nice fish coming out.

so, all the bait pumped, and tackle checked, me and Nikki were off to Spreeuwalle.

perfect summer conditions... awesome weather..

fishing was a bit slow at first, but in the end i ended up with 13 siza blacktail, of wich i tagged 6 and kept 5, and putting 2 back. the biggest fish measuring 43cm! on 10lb braid. and for the first time i used circles,(thanks hannes) and i am happy to say that the circles made a HUGE difference, hooking every pull solidly in the side of the mouth. i also caught more than 25+ stumpies,on the same hooks, my hands still full of holes of their sharp hard fins...

oh ja two 12kg steenies and a 25kg steenie was landed in the last couple weeks on the weskus. the 25kg was in the WESTLANDER..

great stuff, blacktails on the light gear are awesome fun! what size hooks did you use? the reason i ask is that i use tiny hooks for them and dont think you get circles that small, can you upsize when using a circle?

Mike I use 1/0 mustad fine wire demon circles... deadly for blacktail and average galjoen but not so kosher when a bigger fish comes along
