L&F Sharkey leader thikness

Hi guys
I bought a L&F sharkey that i want to use in the sardine run my question is what is the max thikness leader i can use? I have a couple of 1.5 and 1.6 and was wondering if these are ok for the rod eyes?

TimJan if you are using a knot to connect to mainline I would recon 1.4MM but then you will need very neat knots .
Why not change to wind on leaders then you can cast up to 2mm no problem

Sorry i am using windon leaders with a bimini on the mainline and a catspaw. Thanks for answering my question

That should work fine with a Wind On Leader.

As Arno said no problem with those thicknes leaders I have casted up to 1.6 mm with wind on leader just keep your cats paw neat and the loops used for the cats paw short.

Or use the T-Line tapered leaders

I have used 1.8mm on my 16mm guides with now problems.

T-Line tapered leaders are also great but since I started useing my won Wind Ons I would not turn back. And you have less knots to worry about.

Up to 2 or so mm i was using a 2mm wind on leader yesterday with no problems

The advantage of the wind on leaders is that you eliminate the knot between the loop and the leader which makes a big difference when going to large diameter leaders.
