Thursda i drove up to gateng . delivery . lucky Owner bought a new corolla . friday morning , up at 3- guy goes to work at 4 am. oh yayy.

we get drinking at ceasars: he makes Me miss My flight . I am not amused .i proceed to get suitably racket-faced at the keg n aviator , while wating for My Second flight out of Gangster's Alley .

by the time we're called to board theplane - I've already taken off and circled The voortrekker Monument .. so i had to head back and try walk down the tunnel to board the plane . it's Stationary- but it surefeelslike it's moving to ME . got home at 9 pm to a house filled wth strangers , and subsequently had to Help them clear out my tea stock in bottles wrapped in a net . Strong Tea that, sherbet .....

Right - now that you all Know how Thursday and friday went - Let me fill you in On  Today . Hannes M Messages Me and says he Wants to mission down somewhere around the kraanse . Those of you lucky enough to have a head filled with more than 5 brain cells ,will by Now Know that The kraanse In mossel bay are not something to be Taken Lightly not a thing you tackle after having a day after the night before , or smoking 15 a day , or both .I would compare this to walking up The campanile -twice - full kit , for the Pe blokes .Abaddon - That means you .

I'd been down here 14 years ago with a Mate of mine , and i could Never find the spot again . I'd asked ian several times where it Was-as my recollection was still a bit
dodgey - two Things stand tall about the Day though:

1: The number of smooth hounds and Soup-fins we Caught - 21 In total and

2: the CLIMB .

Back then i used to own a purglass competitor 13ft rod . all i clearly remeber was the amount of panting and cursing under my breath , getting back up to the mfootpath so we could drag ourselves into his nissan  and Melt in  A hot bath .I'd Never been so tired after a fishing trip , and subsequently , i have only repeated this amazing Irrational Feat 3 other times- Once to robberg , and 2 Other trips down along this part of our coastline .

to the uninformed( I'd sa you were pretty bloody fortunate - because you've not seen it , you wouldn't try tackling it ) , The wild side of mossel bay is quite Unlike anything found elsewhere in sa . Blokke in Knysna would give you perhaps a taste of sweat , voelklip is something I'd use as a warm-up Lap , before doing either robberg , or this ...

The coastline is rugged .and steep , and when i say sateep - i mean STEEP .We're talking falling 91 M to your unnoticed by civilization"" Death Steep . Plainly put : you simply do not head down anywere along the Kraanse by yourself .

 we've even had kids bunk school , smsíng Their chicks , drops the phone- tries to grab it - and Falls Off the Edge .True story .

ANYHOW - I'm dawdling , because you tube is taking it's time to download the video clips that are unsuitable  for sensitve viewers or priests .  

we impatiently un pack the Loop-ring Met deure , and head down to make out where we want to fishvang .

I've often heard about this spot , where you hear the okes talk about climbing down with a rope.

 By pure co-incidence- we're going down that spot ..

I'm playing japanese tourist , while hannes Sets off at a blistering pace- i assume naturally he knows where he's going .

Later , i discover him Walking like i drive when I'm following a garmin In gauteng . In circles . we're basically cutting our way down the side of this enormous cliff-face .

The pathways Leading to the rockface edge are wide .

for a cape Dassie . Me- I'a Littttle bit broader than that, with bigger Feet .

 thank heaven i decided against a two rod fishing spree- or i'd've died halfwa DOWN the cliff ...

 the challenges to get to some of these spots, is quite Frankly , astonishing .

The whole way down i  had this feeling that the Pack would pull me over the Edge .I haven't walked this cautiously in Years .

 not since we got caught tryna nookie in the lounge of My  girls Parents place .

iLiterally had to concentrate not to lean too far backward , or the Pack would pull Me over .

My Legs were also Feeling it and the Location seemedMore andmore surreal .

What depraved individual Spends a Day carving out These so called'"footpaths ", in order that he can fish , hmm ?

 The Ones that go for cracker and galjoen ...that's Who .

Hannes stops well Short of the shoreline , and I'm a Little confused at first .
By now , my Legs are beginning to feel like a cocaine addict going through withdrawal Symptoms . i can actually pick out exactly where Each and every unneccessary sinker and reel is lying in my tackle box .

At Voelklip , we have one , single, important , consideration to Make :

SWELL HEIGHT .

In the Last 4 Months I've been down to voelklip 5 times.

And each time  I've had to stand in te parking lot , counting waves .

number 6 wets the floor , number 7 sweeps away your Tackle box .

Defeat .. Go home my boy , Lest you wanna single-Parent your Kids .

Here , it's aLittle different .The swells are pretty big , but the advantage here is that your sunglasses will remain where you Left them , not like the last Time i took hannes 101 down to voelklip , where his Brand New Oakleys Were ripped off his face by a Motherflakker Swell ....
