You could also tie some fluro or mono line and spool that onto the reel first, and wind it to a couple of turns, say ten or so, that will keep the braid from slipping on the naked spool as it would if it was done with the braid directly onto the spool.
for the knots, do read the Reefer's tips, it's realy worth it.

morning all.
I am battling to tie my leader (.65) to my main line without it breaking at the knot. The main line is .24. I dont want to use a swivel because I feel it doesnt let you present nutuarly. Any ides out there?

Gents, the bimini is DEAD EASY. If you had been at the social on the weekend past in JHB you would have been able to learn from reefer the knot master himself.

Open your knees to put tension on the twists at this point you will being “loading†the twist, before closing your knees again take the loose end line and angle it at 45 degrees downwards, while closing your knees the loose end line will neatly slide downwards on the twist 2/3 downwards angle the loose end at 90 degrees and wind it on till at the end of the twist tie the loose line to the one end of the loop then the other and then twice on both the loop lines together. The most important part is to use knees to control the winding of the twist just close your knees slowly to give you control of the winding of the line onto the twist. Once you have mastered that the bemini is very easy and quick to make.
This method only works if you don’t worry about a long double line as I usually trim my double to the length I want to use.

I have fireline on my reel now and want to tie a fluro leader to it. HOW????????????
