A dream fishing trip.My self,JP(the owner of Havoc lures) and Frank the tank,spent two weeks fishing Latham island, Mafia and south Zanzibar for mainly gts and doggies.Popping large poppers for gts and jigging for doggies where the rules of engagement.The doggies where not around but the gts where wild, savage and totally off the hook.We had planned our trip to Latham to coincide with the full moons,so as to get the low light windows to fall over the high tides.The sheer ferocity of the gt strikes on our poppers was amazing to watch in the crystal clear water...if a fish missed the plug the way it turns for a second go...totally mind blowing!!We spent five days at Latham and moved off as the moon moved towards neaps.Just a couple of pics of gts and a bit of by catch,this is the place to go if you want to add to your cv.

thanks tauruck, at first I found red heads to be getting most of the early morning action,but as the sun got higher anything that made big noise and lots of water movement worked.We were all using ultra heavy carpenter rods so we could really work the poppers hard...the most successful plug was a prototype that jp had made in a blue nemo colour, which had a cup diameter of 60mm.frank was using it on his wild violence,it didnt splash much,but left a huge bubble trail which the gts loved...pencils worked but plugs were king.
