We went to Jacobs on the weekend for the first time with no luck and battled to find the right spot.Which bay are you referring to.We were at the area where a small boat was moored.

We also tried to fish off the point where there what looks like a old watch tower. What is the best tide and in which bay is the flat rock you are talking about thanks for your help

Angler_1. IF I am not mistaken you are Don. Angler 1 is right. Jacobsbaai is a very easy catch. deep water at your foot. Angler 1 is definetly a pro at catching the cobbies here. the problem with the cows at jacobsbaai is angling at the right time. alot of guys come down here and just waste thier time ending up cathing nothing. time of day, your rig, the tide and the weather is very importand I you want the cows to com into the shallow bay. see you next saterday. I hope for varkvlei. what area you praying for?

Man im abit worried :(the lagoon is too cold been there last week and it was dead typical for this time of year . Soverby you and i know if the north wind is gonna blow its a waste of time.So yes varkvlei is the place ,but the water is cold now and alot of fresh water has spooled in from the berg river it might influence the colour positively .Im not sure if there would be pylies or sandies around so early but theres sure to be a toothy creature or two lurking around.I flew over two days ago and the water looked great all the way from the farm entrance to the pump house but i did notice a nasty looking fence aswell :doh, looks like the farmers abit Deur die k!@k .well lets wait and see im just keen to get the lines wet again.I spoke to Ridwaan today from Western Acc hes keen to join us up here for a week end when jacobs baai starts producing some kob ill take him there with the floater move from the shore.:spite

Summer seems to be the best bet late after noon on a pushing tide , the again mates of mine have caught kob at Jacobs in middle winter. The elf that i have seen have been pretty much youngsters on one that was size .the guys with the lttle row boats do well with kob any time of the day , so its a matter of right time right place , but you do get decent fish there from time to time.
