Hello people

Is Island Shores safe on weekdays
As far as I know it very safe. Its a closed off piece of property and last time I was there access was controlled pretty good. Security guards also patrolled during the night.

Hi All

I drove past Island Shores a few months ago and saw the buildings were vandalized and it didn't look like anyone were fishing there anymore.

It use to be such a nice place to go to...

Anyone maybe have any updates or info regarding the status of Island Shores now???

I reckon that if no rehabilitation has been going on, there are no plans for it,or at least not in terms of opening it up to the public. Its sad yes, the place just sits there with all that potential, for fishing, but also as an opportunity to generate income and a few jobs for the local economy. Im not sure if the local ANC government there wants to punk people or if they have plans for development for the elite, as I assume it is state owned land. Same thing at Jim Fouche, all that potential and the place just sits there deteriorating. I've actually written to the local municipality there, trying to find out what the reasons are for keeping such resources so unproductive, but didn't get any response. If they have plans to develop these areas for their elite, why don't they go ahead and do it, or lease the land to someone who can make it productive, it just doesn't make sense.

I Agree with you 100% percent Steelpulse

What if we take this to Carte Blanche? Things seem to get sorted or at least looked at whenever something airs on the show.

Jim Fouche use to be such a nice place to go to with the family.

Like you say it is really sad that all these places just go to waste instead of improving them, creating jobs and destinations which can boost tourism as well..
