Hi guys has anyone own or been on a 170 FC paired with 60 4 strokes ? Are the 60's 4 enough power for surf launching ??i am currently looking at one and want to hear from zowners with that motor boat combo? Cheers

I remember a post where it was claimed that a F170 with 2 x 60 Honda 4's was underpowered. Z-craft recommend the Yamaha F70's .... but then again the low down power delivery of these motors is not much more than the F60's. It should be noted though that the Honda 60 is a 3 cyl motor whereas the Yamaha F60 is a 4 cyl motor and therefore produces more low end grunt. They spin bigger props as well.

I had one with 60 yamahas 2 strokes was fine with 2up with 4 people would have liked a bit more. My friends 170 had the new yamaha 70 fours on was a great boat with plenty power

Not sure if you are looking for a new or secondhand Z-craft

but do know Justin can get hold of Suzuki as well thru his Kawasaki Jetski connections

BFC i'm looking to go 2nd on either Seacat 565 Tomcat 19ft or Zcraft 170/180, the 60's are too small for all those boats unfortunately. Might be fine for harbour launching but recon too small from what i've heard for beach launching.

I have a 19ft Tom with Suzuki DF90's. Very good combination and no need to go bigger but could if so desired. Gets up very smartly and WOT is well in excess of 40kts. I use 19 props as no surf work but you have the choice of 17 for more initial thrust. Economical too 4 hrs (varying speeds) per 25 lit tank per side.

hi guys I don't have z craft im running 16foot6 elite cat with 2 60hp evins 2strokes very light on fuel and im very happy with my boat but would love one of the big boat but we all have to start some were hahahaha

Please help, I am looking to upgrade and have founf two boats I really like, firstly I fish from Mossel Bay so it is Cape waters, the one is a V Cat 22' with two 90 evenrude e-tecs ,very nice condition engines 96 hours and the other is a Kingcat F16 in excellent condition mainly used on dams with two 50 yamies with 195 hours, please advise which boat would be most suitable for Cape waters.

Morning all, please advise, I shelved the v cat to big for me, looking at the F16 , will this boat be ok for Cape waters? The water down here are very different to the north coast believe me.

You cant compare a 16' boat to a 22' foot boat.

The V cat is however loosly based on the Butt cat and the 22'er is fairly commercial. Seems to run well.

Thank. You Bennie I am looking at the F16 just hope it will be able to take Cape waters, have not seen any of them down here. What you advise, should I rather look at the 15,6 Yeld cat, we mostly do bottom fishing here, dont want a big boat again, had a 19'6 Yeld , was to big.

If you can, buy the Yeld. F16 is heavy. But the Z-Craft is a very capable boat.
