I would maybe count the 27th out as there are a few "Comp Anglers" on Sealine, and it's an "away" weekend for us, nonetheless your thoughts are appreciated.

Hello Gents,

Just got in. Had to work for a change. Went down to Blakes yesterday afternoon. The water is terrible. For maybe 2 clicks out the water is very brown and 'thick'. Kob water you would say? Forget it, only 'Skaamhaaie' and then few and far between. The water has been like this for the last two months and the fishing here is terrible. We will have to move further up the coast if we want to catch anything. Haven't even been able to catch live bait in this water. The Strepies have fled, but Puffies, lots!

Thank you Mike for making this event official. I feel that it is the correct way to ensure member support for outings. Real crap when you organise something and next to nobody turns up.

Lets hear from other Capetonians re the date. So far we have a nice birthday bash going for Brendon if we make it the 3rd of November. We had better check the rugby and cricket for this period to make sure that we don't clash.

I will approach Somerset- and Strand Sports for some small prizes. They are a nice bunch of guys and will give.

Then I suggest a 'Bring and Braai' as this venue lends it perfectly for this, or if this takes to much fishing time, then a "Worsbroodjie Braai'.

Come Guys and Gals, let us know your thoughts to make this a successful and enjoyable experience.

We will definately pitch for the 3rd, 4 or 4 of our juniors will also come along.

As I mentioned in the other thread we will donate a Abu Barcia 4600 reel, which we picked up for a steal abroad.

Bring and braai sounds great, i could throw in some caps, polo shirts and fleece sweaters from the airline i work for, if needed.

If required We could also assist with transport from CPT to the venue, as we have acess to a bus.

So guys, let us know what and when you need it and we will pitch in numbers!

Howzit Oceandancer,

You all ready for the 28th I hope ??? I'm looking forward to 'buddying' one of your youngsters :breakd:

On this thread however...... allow me to chat to Emp and see what exactly his thoughts are and how I should go about this with regards to the reel and the jackets, caps etc etc. I am 100% sure though that I will have his full support!!!!!

cheers

Just for info for future events!!

Just had a chat to my guys here at the airline, i would be prepaired to throw in 1 or 2 international tickets to europe. ONLY from next year on as our budget for this year is exhausted already.

Hi Mike

whatever the boss :swear has to say is fine with me!

I just got our airline to sponsor my kids to a certain extent, why shld an airline not identify themselves with a forum like sealine and what it stands for.

So i hope there is some vision here!!!!!!

My Oh My, Oceandancer, you are definitively the man to know.

Binx, Raggie21, Lil' Raggie21, Visvinger, Fishfinder, Expat, Patrick, Mansoor, Miles, Brendon, (hey my fingers are getting tired) and all other 'Kapies', let's do this thing and receive some input.

How would you like a social competition to work?

How many categories?

What else? We need to get the prizes together and not at the last minute. So the earlier your 2c the better so that Mike can fine tune this event.

If it is a overnight event, we need to think about the fact that it is a "social" and there are some of us who were thinking about bringing kids.

So, how are we going to facilitate the different reqirements,.......it was mentioned earlier, how many categories are there going to be?

INPUT GUYS,..........!!!???

Those that want to bring their families must do so. It is a very pleasant and safe place for children, keeping in mind that children are only safe as long as you can see them.

Those that want to make an allnighter and weekend out of it, so much the better! I don't know about competition fishing in the day though. I'll put two number 12 hooks on my trace and 6' stokkie and nail you okes bigtime. Does anybody know what the lagoon can deliver during daylight?
