I was shopping around for a handheld GPS a few days ago and found this one, got it at a very good price from a dealer, but had to buy it voetstoeds without any warranty, so i went online to look for some info on the unit and there is not too much, i think that Magellan might not be making GPS's anymore, does anyone have any info? I think this unit is about 2 years old.

Hi Dorado, I also have one like that, bought it in 2005. Works like a a charm especially at sea. At this stage we usually use it as a back-up. It also has Baro pressure on the unit that you can use. I think you can store either 500 or 1000 waypoints on it. Hope it helps! If you google it, you can still find the specs.

it does have some great functions, they were for sale at the agents for less than R500! Did you manage to upload any maps for the unit?

I only used the street maps for SA, was the only program I could find at the time. It has a SD card, so I think you will be able to put whole lot on it.

I heard that Magellan is pulling out of SA, don't know true this?

Cheers
