Madcarper I would say I spend on average 2hrs per day on the water there and without doubt 99% of the guys fishing are not the problem. I think a small part of the problem are parents that want to let their kids fish (not experienced fishermen) Buy a rod and some kit from Game and then accidentally manage to hook up. I have observed on one occasion a kid drag a Carp of about 1.5kg along the bank to someone so they could take the hook out. It was an isolated incident that I witnessed but perhaps it happens more than that???

I don't fish for Carp or Barbel but i do see a lot of them. I do however catch Bass every now and again and although there seems to be plenty and we never go away not catching we only seem to nab little ones. 200-300g. may just be my poor skills but I have never seen anyone catch a big Bass.

Dreman sadly I think many of the 'bigger bass' have been taken by the hook & cook brigade - I haven't had a bass there of any good size in months......I've seen someone take out the 200/300g bass and placed them in a plastic bag - gave me the silent treatment when I approached him.
