WTF??????????????????????????????????????????(Are you kidding me ?)Chaps, as a Sealine virgin, I must say I was disturbed by “Tkei -Adam†exposé. I very strongly agree with keeping within the law. Coppers are sensitive breeding stock and need to be protected. I actually would not mind having Coppers, Cracker & Leervis enrolled on the endangered species list (banned).
Adam, I trust you were legally advised before mentioning people’s names and boat names on the web as you did.
I feel repercussions may drift your way...
1. Do you have proof of the accused breaking the law?
2. If you feel so strongly (as I do) about protecting Coppers, how come your boat has been a regular visitor to these inshore breeding grounds in the breeding seasons of the past?
3. The mDumbi launch site has been closed for some time now. Why have you been utilising this launch site illegally, and why did you chose to close it with a chain when the perceived (by you) poachers arrived? You seem to be keeping the Coppers for yourself.
Adam, I have good news for you....you may catch 4 shad per day...not one. Perhaps you can eat Shad from now on and keep your personal and family pressure off the Coppers a bit? Fair?
I am a Natallian, and I must take exeption to your statement about the inhabitants of KZN.
From your use of the English Language, I understand your mother tongue must be of some other language. Perhaps use your preferred language, in which you may be more articulate, whilst not making reading so difficult for the reader. Thanks.
Adam, you really need to be more mature and accurate in the manner you address matters of this sensitive nature. Through your inaccuracies and emotional outbursts, you have smothered your own thunder, where it could have carried weight, and lead to greater support. On this note, it is not desired by readers of substance that you use the possibly worst “swear word†in the English language in your article, and in disguising it, leave little to the imagination.
You, with great confidence, say not a single boat has enquired about using the launch site, yet in your next posting say Theo did enquire. Another accuracy problem.
Adam, if you again chose to be the author of similar statements, I support you but cannot support, or justify your future use of foul language, open defamatory statements, generalisation, lack of evidence/substance, contradictions and gross inaccuracies.
May the Coppers live, and I hope you don’t get sued.
For someone with only 5 posts you sure think you can throw your weight around .Tkei,
Thank you for your reply and edit. I now can assess your mettle.
I strongly support the protection of fish stocks.
I do not support your crusade & methods. Operate responsibly, maturely, by example, within SA law, and the results will surely follow.
Blueberrypie out!
Sorry for dissapointing you.Gallieman, I am supprised and disappointed you and Fedu rate someone based on the quantum of their previous posts.
Lets apply our minds:
We are all for preserving fish stocks, especially Coppers. Moaning, complaining, and hanling the matter outside the law will not work.
This method will:If you name-and -shame a proven plunderer...thats 100%. If you incorrectly accuse someone & splash their name on the web, how will they be able to fish in peace elsewhere? They must now unfairly live with this stigma over their heads due to someones hasty actions.
- Get a tipoff from the local network as Wild Coast explained.

For example if Tkei's boat was in KZN catching Garrick, and witnessed by Mr X as having caught 10 between 2 people (allowed 2 each). Mr X from the local Skiboat club tells all his mates, the boat name is splashed all over the web. They will obviously believe Mr X without a doubt. Tkei is now having to explain himself at every corner, at home, away, and tell everyone it wasn't true, thus naturally being construded as a liar.
What Mr X did not see is Tkei tagging, or simply releasing 9 out of the 10 Garrick. Facts are important. Now Tkei is a criminal.
Mr X can then retract his statement, however the damage has been done for Tkei.
I think this has happened with the boat Gaffer.
Another solution:
Visitors to sign an agreement before being given access to the launch site to allow a boat search by the club (cost added to launch fees)
We gather the coppers are breeding in August & September open season (approx 60 days).
I guess a local will love to have a job at R 70/ day down there. He will cost the club R4200.00 Max if he works every day. If you have 40 visitor launches in these 2 months, charge them an additional R105 for their search....all in the agreement. The guard can also assist with other club duties.
Are these ideas not more pro-active and practical?
Wide open for bribesTkei,
Another good method I think....
Pay the chap per inspection (eg attached)
The inspector gets paid every time he returns a sheet signed by the skipper, to the club manager. This way he will make sure he does his job, and your income in/out will balance for inspections.
I'm sure R25 per inspection will be acceptable for the inspector and the skipper.
