im also still fairly new to dropshotting

i fished at blue lagoon this weekend

it was awesome time
b4 daybreak them pesky shads where abit irrating, kept cutting me off, managed to land 1 nice sized 1 though

highlight though managed to take out 4 kingies in total from bout 250mm to 420mm

the venue is 1 awesome joint, def fishing there again...& i'll be there wit my 10lb fireline on

I fished there on wednesday thursday & friday afternoon, pulled out 3 kingies and got bitten off a few times.

Will def. return to blue lagoon

Awesome stuff guys! Was at blue lagoon earlier today ...was a bit too hot so i didnt fish long...where exactly are u guys gettin kings? Is it at the mouth opening or at the forefront of those big rocks wher they fish for shad and garrick? Plz share some info as i would love to try there again some time... Thanks

Andz, did you say shad kept biting you off? If so, thats possible but hard to believe that they are around at this time of year. Was there a crowd?

i normally fish on the pipe that comes out into the mouth. It's about 60m from the mouth and the pipe's right there where the mouth starts to widen

yup on friday morning...not knowing the area well i fished not on the mouthside

but on the surfside of the rocks...there where bout 5 of us in total, me being the only dropshotter.

most the of the shad that where coming out where also under the 30cm size

Excuse my ignorance, coming from the Cape..
2 Questions:
1.) Where is Blue Lagoon? It seems like a great fishing spot.
2.) I am going to be in Umhlanga / Umdloti Area 7-10March. Any good fishing spots close by? (Have to smuggle the gear in, so the spots must be very good)

umhlanga in front of the lighthouse is a very good dropshot spot when it's low tide

blue lagoon is south of umhlanga.

its about a 10 min drive if you head from umhlanga towards dbn on the m4.

you wont miss it.

it has a nice forehead for sliding.
