Went to Kingfisher recently and spotted something new to me called sand mackerel. Comes in packs of fours and sells for about R11-00. Has a blueish tinge at the top with a yellow tail. Certainly looks better than the normal mackerels and much cheaper as well.
Has anyone used this before and how effective would you say it is?? Also what species to target with this mackerel.
BTW is it even worth buying any type of mackerel now that winter is here. All the tackle shops seem to have plenty of stock of mackerel now whereas in summer that always said that they were out. Methinks that this is their left over stock from summer that they were hiding in the back and never got sold.
