How's it's guys it's been a long time since 1995 when i moved to PE so a friend of mine asked if i wanted to join him for a trip to the Vaal dam so we arrived Saturday afternoon friend gave me some tackle to use dam technology has changed over the years bite alarms rod pods dam then had to learn all the knots over again plus after fishing salt water for so long could not get over how thin the lines have got but once i got going it was great fun my target was a giant barble but did not get a giant we did not take pix of all the fish but only the high lights and before you jump down my throat we set most free the ones that were keeped were given to our boys at work and not wasted great fun my the high light of my weekend was my barble and a mirror carp wow it's a beautiful fish

Muddie's are awesome fighters, yellows are great too the vaal river below the barrage used to be my fav area for them... use freshwater shrimps or crushed crab.

So far the best fight i had was from the mirror carp was only 2.5kg but gave me a better fight then the 6kg barble so can't wait to see how the others fight
