how can i catch a zambize in the umlalazi river mouth i'm getting a new reel that can hold 1km of line because my old reel can only hold 300m of line do you think i need it

Nothing will work better than a Fresh Grunter or Kob head,even if they alive they will make good swim baits for Zambo's, a large live mullet will also work.Use 3 strands of Couta wire twisted together,about 1.5m long,and two strong 10/0 hooks.Use a leader not less than 1mm.You will need a reel that can hold more than 300m of line.Fish the river on an in coming tide. Whats your new reel?

and coming from a guy who has caught two in the last 6 months!!!!
You gonna have to hold my hand and teach me how to get them when i eventually come your way!
I heard from other experienced swim baiters that using three strands of couta wire (piano wire) is not as good as using two. This being, as explained to me, that three strands may get bitten through since it is thicker and the shark can get hold of it easier, where as two strands will not since they move easier together between teeth and is smaller in diameter but just as strong....
any views on this?

Howzit Ziyz,the theory behind using 3strands of couta wire is that,it would give you strenght,but at the same time be supple and thinner then 250carbon coated wire.Being thinner,it should be able to pass between the sharks teeth better then the carbon coated without being cut off.However my last two Zambezie's where caught with 260pound bleeding wire and 170pound regular carbon coated wire.Both where bitten terribly,and i was fortunate to land both fish.
