Hi There,

Does anyone have plans to run to the deep tomorrow?

10-12 Knots NW, swell between 2.8 and 2.4m, slight shop with moderate long period swell, 13 sec.

Any news of Yellowtail / Snoek at Cape Point?:fishn

Hi Decker,

the one boat had over 100 tail, but they were on the small side and all fish were on the troll.

I would have joined you at the point tom but still need to sort some things out on my boat, so going to climb on one of the commercial boats tomorrow fishing at Robben

Also got full quota snoek and a few yellowtail at Rocky Bank... I could not run to the deep as my crew which is actually a client was :puke at the point already... I had to make a choice between Tuna and a possible cancellation of one of my contracts...

Saw nice Yellowfin that came out on Tyler and Lynx. Big Fish...

Lia Nelle went out yesterday 7h15 from Hbay, myself and 2 crew, arrived at the 33 and 10 at 8h45. Water colour good, temp only 17 degrees. Start trolling to the 38 and 10, nothing in the first hour. But good things come for those who wait.. Arrived at the 38 and 10, water now 18 degrees. Saw a stern trawler. 500m from the trawler a double strike on the deep divers (Lfin). Start chumming immediately - and then we were busy from 10h00 to 13h30. One of us chumming the whole time and 2 guys fishing. Managed to land 3 Yfins (71, 60 and 42 kg) and 25 Lfins ! Again the HT and Miles "guide to Yfin Fishing" worked for us inexperienced guys ! We are slowly getting there.

Lots of birds and sharks, but we managed to land some good fish. This morning the body is sore, but very satisfied.

Well done Peks, I am hoping for Saturday to take a trip to the deep. Would love to hear from you guys that go out on friday. Will follow the Miles and Hammertime rule book anyway and hope to find or attract some fish with chum.

Hi Nico.........I have taken leave for Friday, and there seems to be Snoek everywhere along the coast. I am hoping to catch some Yellowtail though, so would appreciate more info on your day on R Bank. Did you see the fish on the surface, or just blind strikes ? How many Tail did you get ? You mentioned that Gareth and Allen got some YF too.........were they in the deep, or also with you on RB ? Also, what size were the Tail, heard that a few were caught on Monday, but mostly young fish ? What was the water temp / colour ? Thanks RB
