I’m pleased to post the decisions taken at last night’s (17 Aug 2010) SSEC:WC members meeting.
1. Fourteen members attended. A number of members did submit their apologies for not attending.
2. Logistical arrangements: Dapatsgat (Kogelbaai) to Jock se Baai / Dawidskraal competition 21 August 2010:
2.1. Fishing area: Dapatsgat (Kogelbaai) to Jock se Baai / Dawidskraal. ***Galjoen*** (Wikus) will post Google maps on the Forum.
2.2. Competition Secretary: Mobi Dick (Nico Fourie) has been appointed for this competition.
2.3. Start and end times of competition:
Start: 05:30 – 06:00.
End (way-in): 14:00 – 14:30. (No grace after 14:30 and any late submissions will be disqualified).
NOTE: Members who do not make the morning starting time (06:00) will have grace until 07:00 to collect their Score Cards from the Competition Secretary, wherever he might be. Late-comers can contact him on his Cell (073 605 5567) to establish his whereabouts and to collect their Score cards BEFORE 07:00 from him. Please note that he WILL NOT issue Score cards to members who do not meet the final cut-off time of 07:00. Any members who do not meet this grace period shall be disqualified from the competition. They may, however, participate in the day’s fishing on a non-competitive basis and attend the weigh-in/ social event, thus earning 15 points for attending the Social event.
2.4. Venue for issuing Score Cards: BP Garage at fork opposite Hendon Park camping area, Gordons Bay.
2.5. Return of Score Cards: Kogelbaai Day visitors picnic/ braai area.
2.6. After party: Same as above.
3. General:
3.1. Previous competition (July 2010): Feedback: Not much fish caught but social was again great success. Members should take careful note of the correct fishing areas so as to prevent unfortunate disqualifications due to late submissions or participants fishing outside the demarcated area.
3.2. Sealine social bash - Hole in the Wall: No members to attend and item to be removed from agenda.
3.3. Witsand weekend (24-26 Sept 2010): Arrangements ongoing. Marthin to post announcement regarding accommodation, etc.
3.4. New members. All new members are urged to complete their Registration Forms and return it to Seawiid (Herman) as a matter of urgency.
3.5. Future competition dates: It was decided that future dates and venues will not be set too long in advance. Next date and venue is 15/16 October 2010 at Spreeuwalle, Langebaan. Competition will be from Friday night to Saturday afternoon, weather permitting. In event of unfavourable weather the fishing area will be changed to include the greater Langebaan area.
3.6. Attendance of Club events by non-members – Should they pay admission fee? It was decided that non-members will not be required to pay an admission fee for participating. They will not, however, be permitted to participate in the Club’s actual competitions. Non-members attending other events such as Angling Clinics will, however, in future be expected to pay a fee.
3.7. Fishing line – special offer. Marthin to post announcement in this regard.
3.8. End of Year function (11 Sept 2010) – Arrangements: Kaspaas (Dirk) will post thread in this regard. Members are urged to indicate who will be attending.
